The airport transfer people underestimate
Cancún International is roughly an hour from Playa del Carmen, not ten minutes. A private driver waiting with your name costs less than the shared shuttle that stops at four resorts before yours, and it means walking straight past the timeshare desks that ambush arrivals.
Parks, cenotes and the Cozumel ferry
Xcaret and Xplor are about five minutes from town, Tulum is thirty, and the Cozumel ferry leaves from the pier at the end of Fifth Avenue. Playa is the best base on this coast for day trips — we book them with transportation included so you are not coordinating pickups from your phone on vacation.

Pick Playa if you want to walk out the door
Fifth Avenue runs about five kilometres through the middle of town, closed to cars, lined with restaurants and shops. That single fact is the whole difference from Cancún's hotel zone, where leaving the resort means getting in a vehicle. First-time visitors almost always prefer it.
Pick Cancún if the transfer matters most
Travelling with small children, arriving late at night, or coming for three days? The extra hour each way to Playa is real. We will say so rather than book you the trip with the bigger commission.
Review sites cannot tell you what we can
